I came stumbling into Karl Trygve’s seminar on Spoofax, just as he was about to start. Sweating, breathing heavily, and with a dripping wet umbrella (well, come on, it IS Bergen)… I’ve been told the other listeners wondered who I was.
Anyway. He presented his work well and interesting, with just the right amount of dry witticism we all expect. It felt more like a basic course in program transformation than a seminar in Spoofax, but then again… That might be a good sign. I am not that well versed in program transformation, I only know what little I’ve gleamed out of his notes and maniacal monologues. Thus, it might be I’ve missed the point completely.
Not knowing what the fuss should be about, I can only say that it seemed like program transformation (or at least what Spoofax does of it) is manageable. Or at least accessible. I can only suppose that it wasn’t as accessible, or at least as manageable, earlier.
There. Now I’ve gone and borrowed his writing style, sense of humor and … No – wait. These are traits we (at least partly) shared before. My bad.
