Speeding up post-boot in Vista

I’ve been having trouble with Vista’s start-up time. That is, from I supply user name and password and until the system starts responding to my actions. A bit of googling gave me a bit more knowledge of how to see what might be the problem, and how to solve it.

Tips; under Control Panel –> System and Maintenance –> Performance Information and Tools –> Advanced tools (left hand menu, bottom). Troubles might be indicated here.

Also; in Services, you might – in addition to Automatic and Manual – you might select Automatic(delay) for what effect you might notice.

Even after setting all Oracle DB related services to be delayed, I still seem to attract trouble only a reinstall of Vista (or perhaps XP) will fix.

My quest continues.
